Traditionally, during the Arbor Day Observance Jacksonville celebrates the meaning of Arbor Day and trees are planted at a City Park.  Arbor Day is also used to encourage Citizens to give back to their community by supporting the Adopt-A-Program where volunteers can adopt a street, stream, park or trail to help keep clean.

A spring event. Jacksonville Jamboree is a three day event Friday through Sunday at the Jacksonville Commons. Statewide sports competitions run throughout the Jamboree and include softball, baseball, basketball, skateboard, tennis and BMX.

Saturday is the day to come for musical entertainment, the annual 'Jacksonville's Got Talent' competition as well as food and marketplace vendors. Jacksonville Jamboree logoDemonstrations from local organizations as well as a children's activity and play area make the Jacksonville Jamboree a well rounded event for the family.

National Night Out

The first Tuesday in August 2014
National Night Out is America's night out against crime.  The introduction of National Night Out began in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The event is held annually on the first Tuesday of August held at Riverwalk Crossing Park in downtown Jacksonville. The City of Jacksonville along with community partners hosts this exciting annual event to celebrate community and to promote crime prevention.

Funding for National Night Out is provided in part by the Jacksonville Tourism Development Authority. Hosted by the City of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Public Safety

Fall Festivals
Riverwalk Festival and Palooza
This September Festival has a lot to offer. Located at Riverwalk Park in downtown this festival kicks off with a 5K Run and Walk in the morning. Vendors, entertainment and activities are situated up and down the lanes around Riverwalk Park. Adjacent to Riverwalk is LP Willingham Park, which hugs the New River where the Palooza part of the festival is found. Check back for more details for this event in the fall of 2014.

This event is of course, in October. Set at Riverwalk Park in downtown Jacksonville, Oktoberfest starts with an early morning 5K and offers activities in the Oktoberfest style throughout the day. Come prepared to run and walk and spend the day  enjoying lots of mouth watering bratwurst & beer, incredible family fun, entertainment and variety of arts and crafts. Check back for more details for this event in the fall of 2014.

Jazz in the City
November is the season for Jazz in Jacksonville. Spend a day and night listening to some incredible talent at the Jazz in the City event. This event takes place at the Northside HS Auditorium and boast comfortable seating and great acoustics for this event. To top off the Evening, Jazz in the City offers ticket holders a reception after the event. Check back for more details for this event in the fall of 2014.

Flotilla on the New RiverWinterfest
Free Admission and Parking
December 7, 2-8PM at Riverwalk Park, 421 Court Street in downtown Jacksonville. Winterfest is a celebration of the season. This festive event has children’s games, ice sculptures, holiday entertainment, food, pony, hay and train rides. Children an have their picture taken with Santa and visit Santa's Workshop. Highlights include sledding with real snow, the annual tree lighting and spectacular Flotilla on the New River.Event size in 2012 was 3,000+.
