Jacksonville NC Arbor Day Video Challenge 2014

There will be a student division for students in grades K-12 and an adult division open to adults aged 18+. Video entries must be submitted by April 4, 2014 at 5PM. Runners up will be featured on Jacksonville-Onslow Government Television station and mentioned at the Arbor Day Ceremony. Winners will be notified by April 18, 2014.  Fill out this form to enter.

Challenge Rules

  • Submissions should be short and should compel community members to want to plant trees with in the City of Jacksonville. Think movie trailer or television advertisement length. Say, 3 to 5 minutes at most. If you think you can do it in less time, go for it. 
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any use of video, imagery or music meets copyright and fair-use laws. Any entries that do not meet this standard will not be considered eligible. 
  • We hold final judgment on whether submissions will be acceptable and appropriate for this contest. 
  • By submitting a video to the contest, you grant the City of Jacksonville a royalty-free, irrevocable right to reproduce, publish distribute, perform, display, create derivative works of the submission, or otherwise use the work for our purposes, and authorize others to do so. 
  • Upload your video to youtube and tag it with this exact language -- "Jacksonville NC Arbor Day Video Challenge 2014" -- to ensure that we find it. 
  • The top video in each division will be awarded a $50 Gift card, recognition at the City of Jacksonville’s annual Arbor Day Ceremony along with your video being featured on the Jacksonville-Onslow Government Television channel.
