Neighborhood Planning Areas
Jacksonville’s neighborhood planning program aims to shapes neighborhoods and communities through the voices of the people who live, work, own property or manage a business in the area.  In 2009 City Council adopted a resolution to create Jacksonville’s neighborhood planning program and identified ten areas for planning.

By asking neighbors to provide input on the successes and challenge of their particular neighborhood the city can accurately craft policies and recommendation to best suit the neighborhoods.
Neighbors who participate in the planning process can help;
  • Promote stability in the area
  • Provide guidance for land use, zoning and future development
  • Recommend public improvements
  • Shape a vision for the area
  • Create a framework to guide future development in the area
