Self Defense
Self defense instructor teaching a student.Champion Youth Outreach in partnership with the Recreation and Parks Department offers classes to teach children about self-defense.

The course is to teach self-defense with the emphasis on child safety and awareness. The purpose is to give instructions on how to defend oneself as opposed to teaching aggressiveness or bully tactics. A certified black-belt instructor will cover the basics including techniques and form with the students. It is important to note that no physical contact will be allowed in beginner's classes. Testing will be available for rank promotion!

Monday Classes
  • Age Requirements and Time:
    • New Students (Ages 4-9): 6:15 PM - 7 PM 
    • New Students (Ages 10 & up): 7 PM - 7:45 PM 
    • Returning Yellow Belts: 7 PM - 7:45 PM
    • Returning Green & Above Belts: 7:45 PM - 8:30 PM  
  • Location: Jacksonville Commons Elementary School
    1121 Commons Drive North
    Jacksonville, NC 28546
  • Cost: $8 Registration Fee and $7 per class
  • Registration: at designated class time

Wednesday Classes
  • Age Requirements and Time:
    • New Students (Ages 4-9): 6:15 PM - 7 PM
