Jacksonville Community Engagement seeks to identify opportunities to enhance communications and engagement with citizens and foster livable neighborhoods in all residential areas of the City of Jacksonville

Jacksonville is an "Entitlement City," receiving annual Community Development Block Grant funding from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These federal dollars translates into assistance for Jacksonville's Citizens looking to rent, buy or maintain a home; supports nonprofit organizations seeking to provide public services; and is to make improvements to public facilities and infrastructure.

To achieve mission goals, the City has established a Community Engagement Advisory Committee and a  Community Development subcommittee, where Citizens work to help the City improve services and programs. Advisory Committee application forms are available online.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Federal Fair Housing Law) prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability.

The City of Jacksonville, Community Engagement Division, has been authorized and directed to receive complaints of alleged acts of housing discrimination within the City of Jacksonville. Complaints  must be received in person or in written form by the Community Engagement office within 90 days of the alleged incident.
