Future Projects
LandscapingLandscaping Improvements
The City of Jacksonville is working to make the City and cleaner and greener place to live, work and play. Jacksonville Recreation and Parks is 'stepping it up a notch' with their landscaping and horticultural improvements. Parks like North East Creek Park and Riverwalk Crossing Park bloom in many colors to the delight of pedestrians and passersby.

Multimodal Transportation Center Planned
The City is making plans to begin development of a new multimodal transportation center in Jacksonville to better serve the growing mobility needs of our community. This facility will be a key part of the future transportation system in Jacksonville, providing one convenient location for travelers to connect with, and transfer among, multiple types of transportation in a comfortable and attractive environment. It is expected that travelers will be able to walk, bike, drive, or ride a bus to the facility and be able to connect with regional Greyhound service, the future Amtrak shuttle and other transportation services.

More information can be found on the Roadway and Transportation projects webpages.

New River & Wilson Bay

An artificial reef like structure is being built along the shoreline of Wilson Bay by Wilson Bay Park in downtown Jacksonville.

Rubble from the Old Buddy Phillips Bridge is being used to build the structure, along with oysters used to infuse oxygen into the water. This structure will encourage marine life to 'move in' and work to build and sustain a healthy marine environment. The structure will also attract fish for local fishing along the edge of the water.
