If the leak or break is on the city side of the line it will be fixed by city employees. If a leak is located after the water passes through the meter, it is the responsibility of the customer to have the leak repaired.
After having the leak repaired, call us so that we can verify that there are no more leaks and we will make an adjustment to lower the sewer portion of your bill.

Fingerprinting and Taxi services are offered on Tuesday and Thursday, 8-11AM and 1-4PM. An appointment is required for fingerprinting, walk-ins are not accepted. The fee for fingerprinting is $20 per request. Taxi services are priced differently depending on the type of service requested. While we do not actually operate the youth soccer program, the Jacksonville Area Soccer Association (JASA) plays their games at Woodlands Park. For more information regarding JASA, you can view their webpage.
Call sanitation at 910-938-5338 to obtain a recycle bin. The City provides a 65-gallon bin on wheels with a lid. There is no additional charge to participate in the City recycling program.
The sanitation service is part of your monthly City utility bill; the residential charge is currently $22 per month.
If the paint is still wet, remove the lid to air dry, or add enough dirt, kitty litter, or floor dry to soak up all the paint. Once the paint is dry, call sanitation at 910 938-5338 to schedule pick up. Please do not put paint cans in your trash container.
There are a couple options here for disposing of remodeling material. If the amount is small enough to place in your trash can, please do so. If you have a larger amount, you can schedule the dial-a-trailer. If remodeling materials is placed at the curb, sanitation personnel will inspect and determine if charges will be assessed by the city.
Dial-a-Trailer is a service offered at no additional charge, providing for residents assistance in removing an excessive amount of yard waste or junk materials. The city provides a 12'x8' trailer to be parked at your residence for two nights or over a weekend to load with yard or junk materials. Scheduling for this service is based on availability, on a first-come-first-served basis.
The city's weekly yard waste collection is Wednesday of each week except holiday weeks. Curbside yard waste is vegetation only; tree limbs, grass clippings, pine needles, brush, etc. Small, loose items need to be contained in paper compost bags, medium-size box, or a container that is no larger than a 32- gallon size. Yard waste cannot be collected in plastic lawn bags. Limb or brush piles larger than one cord (4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet) will be inspected by sanitation personnel to determine if there may be a charge assessed for collection by the city.
The dial-a-trailer may also be requested for disposing of excessive amounts of yard waste. Sod, dirt and rocks are not yard waste and cannot be collected by city crews. The sanitation holiday schedule is available online.
