[ARCHIVED] Traffic Advisory: Morning Lane Closures for Western Boulevard at Brynn Marr Road

Traffic will be detoured around portions of a Western Boulevard intersection Wednesday due to emergency repairs to a major Jacksonville water line.

A contractor was boring under the intersection of Western Boulevard and Brynn Marr Road Tuesday afternoon, when an 8” City water line, eight feet under the road, was damaged. City crews were able to isolate the line and no customers are known to be without water at this time.

At about 8:30AM Wednesday, November 15, 2017, two southbound bound lanes of Western Boulevard (headed toward NC 24-Lejeune Blvd) will be closed. The right hand turn lane off the eastbound Brynn Marr Road toward NC24-Lejeune Boulevard will also be closed.

Morning motorists should consider alternate travel plans if they normally use this intersection.

Emergency repairs are to continue until the line is repaired.

The City will bill the contractor for the damage and the repairs.
