Sturgeon City Institutes offer a unique opportunity for a life enriching experience against the backdrop of the successful Wilson Bay Initiative, an environmental project that helped restore the habitat of Wilson Bay.
Area high school students have the opportunity to learn about leadership, police sciences, biology, chemistry, engineering and physics through the various institutes offered.
To apply, students should complete and return a nomination form to Sturgeon City as soon as possible. The Institute closes when full so applications should be in by May 19. Applications can be found at
www.sturgeoncity.org. For some Institutes, additional information will be required before someone is considered for acceptance. For more information, call Sturgeon City at 910 938-6456.
The Institutes are offered as a service of the City of Jacksonville with the sponsorship of the Onslow County School System and operated by Sturgeon City of Jacksonville nonprofit.
