Travel Advisory: Moosehaven Road Closing until August 28
Allows contractor to speed work on Jacksonville Parkway
Moosehaven Road, a popular shortcut to some of the southside Western Boulevard stores from Marine Boulevard, will be closed to allow the contractor to speed up work on the Jacksonville Parkway Project.
The road runs from Marine Boulevard to Circuit Lane and provides rear access to Lowes, McDonalds and other businesses along Western Boulevard from US 17 Business or Marine Boulevard.
The closure from Wednesday to August 28 will allow the contractor to complete drainage pipe installation and place several lifts of asphalt on the road to bring it closer to the desired construction standard.
The closure was not announced previously because of the late decision to allow the closure by the State to speed work on the project. Local traffic to the homes along Moosehaven and to the Moose Lodge will be accommodated, but through traffic will not be accommodated. Motorists should stay on Western Boulevard to reach their destination rather than the Moosehaven Road route.
