Seeking Public Comment:
Comments Accepted on Priority of Funding for Area Projects for all Modes of Transportation
Jacksonville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization
The Jacksonville Urban Area MPO (JUMPO) is accepting public comment on the preliminary assignment of prioritization for funding of area transportation projects. Prioritization is determined through Local Input Points of projects submitted to NCDOT through the Strategic Transportation Investments (STI) prioritization process. Citizens are encouraged to comment on how local projects are prioritized before submission to NCDOT.
Area projects are inclusive of all modes of transportation (aviation, bicycle, ferry, highway, pedestrian, rail, transit) and fall into one of three categories: Statewide Mobility, Regional Impact or Division Needs. To view documents, please visit the Jacksonville MPO website at www.jumpo-nc.org. Two documents on the JUMPO Homepage, ‘Division Needs’ and ‘Regional Impact’ show the current point priorities for area projects based on previous public input & JUMPO recommendations. Within these documents Citizens may view priorities that are currently suggested and may click on a link to a City Map which highlights locations of projects and provides a detailed project review. Projects may also be viewed in the JUMPO office located at City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville and at the JUMPO booth at National Night Out, Riverwalk Park on Aug 5, 5-9PM.
The Jacksonville MPO is accepting public comments through Aug 8. JUMPO will make final assignment of points at the City’s Technical Advisory Committee meeting on Aug. 14.
