Jacksonville Juneteenth Observance Open to Public Friday, June 16

The public is invited to attend the Onslow Civic Affairs Committee Juneteenth Observance at 9:30AM Friday, June 16 at Jacksonville City Hall. The program will feature history of Juneteenth in the Black community, remarks from guest speaker Mario Harris, and a voice performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” from City of Jacksonville Human Resources Technician Crystal Blockett. 

The observance at City Hall is free and open to the public and will be recorded for broadcast to G10TV, and the City of Jacksonville Youtube Channel. 

Jacksonville City Hall and most public facing facilities will be closed Monday, June 19, 2023, in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. Jacksonville Public Safety and Fire & Emergency Services will remain open. City offices will reopen Tuesday, June 20.


Media are welcome to attend and cover the events. The Onslow Civic Affairs Committee City Hall observance will be recorded and video from the observance will be available for media.
