Bikes on Buses

2021-Bikes On Transit Buses

Ride your bike to a Jacksonville Transit Stop and hop on to connect to other locations in the City. Transit buses are equipped with bicycle racks for rider use at no additional charge. We offer bike racks on the front of our transit buses to offer accessibility for all Citizens riding the bus.

Using the Bike Rack

Use the release handle on the lower part of the rack to open the rack and load your bike into the trough. Remove any valuables from your bike and lock down the rack before you board. When you're ready to exit the bus, remind the driver you'll be removing your bike and proceed to take your bike off the rack.

Once you have your bike, go to the nearest curbside. Wave to let the bus operator know you and your bike are clear of the bus. Never cross the street in front of the bus; passing traffic cannot see you coming around the bus.

You can read full written instructions for mounting your bikes on Transit buses here.
