Jacksonville Public Safety wants you to know that the leading cause of child deaths is auto accidents. Check to make sure your child car seat is safe. Jacksonville Fire & Emergency Services is certified as a “Permanent Checking Station” and has certified CPS technicians that work daily. Call 910 455-8080 for an appointment to have your car seat checked.  

Temperatures in a parked car on a warm day can reach 120 degrees in minutes, making it very uncomfortable and deadly for children and pets. A child’s body heats up much quicker that an adults, excessive heat can cause brain damage, heatstroke or death. Jacksonville Police say, Keep your child safe, don’t leave your child in the car alone, even for a few minutes.
