City of Jacksonville Winter Storm Closings & Changes

As icy conditions continue, Jacksonville Police warn that roadways are clearing up, but are wet. Anything that melts will most likely refreeze tonight as temperatures drop again below freezing. Several accidents due to icy conditions have occurred over night and into today. Jacksonville Public Safety officials urge your to stay off the road if at all possible when road are icy. If you must drive, slow down and use extreme caution.

City Streets crews are working to clear any downed trees blocking City streets. NC DOT is continuing to salt and assist with road clearing, and other emergency crews are working to restore power where needed. 

Jacksonville Transit will not operate today, Saturday, January 22 and will review conditions for Sunday. Updates will be available on the City Facebook page and through the TansLoc app. 

Jacksonville Recreation has cancelled all activities for the remainder of the weekend.
