The State of Emergency has been rescinded as of 6PM on June 10, 2021 for the City of Jacksonville due to the lessening COVID-19 threat. There was never a curfew issued nor any business closures related to the State of Emergency.
Mayor Sammy Phillips issued the declaration on March 16, 2020 in order for the City to seek reimbursement for COVID-19 related expenditures. Additionally, some insurance policies required a State of Emergency in order for business owners seek compensation for COVID-19 related claims.
Jacksonville City Hall reopened to the public on June 1, 2021 with social distancing requirements such as wearing a mask while inside the building.
