Gas Leak Update (2/11/20, 4PM) - Public Safety on scene report that the gas leak has been capped, but Piedmont Gas is continuing to work on the area. At this time, the evacuation has been lifted and most roadways have been reopened.

The intersections of Carmen Avenue and Henderson Drive, Clyde Drive at Carmen Avenue, and Schall Drive at Carmen will remain closed at this time. Residents in those areas may show their ID to Officers at the barricades to gain access to their homes.

Traffic Rerouted Due to Gas Leak: An unmarked natural gas line has been hit by a crew working in the area of Carmen Avenue and Clyde Drive near Henderson Drive. Henderson Drive and streets around the intersection are being closed.

Motorists are urged to use another route, including those who would pick up students at Jacksonville High School. Those headed to or leaving the school are urged to use Gum Branch Road instead of Henderson Drive.

Jacksonville Fire and Emergency Services are on the scene as well as City of Jacksonville Utility crews.
