The board may grant variances from requirements of the Zoning Ordinance when there are practical difficulties or undue hardships involved in compliance. The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body that hears appeals from Citizens concerning administrative decisions made by the Zoning Codes Officer.

Qualifications for Appointment

Four members shall reside within the City limits and one member shall be a resident of the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). Members must be registered to vote within Onslow County, except for active duty military personnel.
