Mask Mandate

Following the federal mandates, all Jacksonville Transit riders and drivers must properly wear a mask (covering nose and mouth) while on board a Jacksonville Transit bus.

Jacksonville Transit Fares Resumed EFFECTIVE on July 1, 2021

 After 15 months of free fares on Jacksonville Transit, normal fare collection has resumed. Either purchase paper tickets at Water Billing at City Hall, have exact change on the bus, or use the Token Transit app that's mentioned in the next section.

Hands Free ticketing Now Available

Riders can purchase tickets with a new App starting July 1, 2021. Pay for and get virtual tickets with Token Transit on mobile devices.

Public Announcement: Notice of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Goals and Methodology, Federal Fiscal Year 2022 - 2024

Pursuant to 49 CFR Part 26, the City of Jacksonville, North Carolina Public Transit program (Federal Transit Administration Region IV) has established the goal of 6.0 percent for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises for FY 2022-2024 in FTA Section 5307 program assisted contracts.  

 

A description of the goals and the methodology used in determining this goal are available for public review for thirty (30) days following the publication of this notice at the City of Jacksonville City Hall at the address below, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM by contacting Jacksonville Transit staff at (910) 938-RIDE.  There will also be a public meeting on August 18, 2021 from 4-6 PM at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street for those who are interested in learning more about the DBE program and the methodology. Public comments regarding this goal and the DBE Program will be received for 30 days following the publication of this notice at the address below:

Reduced Fare Riders

A Reduced Fare ID will be required each time you ride.

Reduced Fare Applications (PDF) are available online and at City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street

To renew or receive reduced fair ID come in between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Please bring a picture ID and if you are renewing your reduced fare ID, please bring your expired ID with you.
