Jacksonville Fire and Emergency Services is ready to respond to emergency calls 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, with the goal of minimizing the loss of life and property for the Citizens of the City of Jacksonville through the efficient response of personnel and equipment and conducting programs that promote fire and life safety.
The Operations Division provides services in fire suppression, medical emergencies, technical rescue, as well as various types of calls for service.
Jacksonville Fire and Emergency Services has specialty teams in structural collapse, water rescue, and hazardous materials technician. The majority of the fire prevention programs are conducted by operations personnel for schools and many civic organizations. The Operations Division is responsible for the maintenance of facilities and equipment in order to maintain an effective and efficient response for Citizens.
Jacksonville Fire and Emergency Services Safety and Standards Division implements training and safety of all department personnel, recruitment of paid and volunteer personnel, and manage the department's specialty response teams.
