Downtown Housing Initiative

Neighborhood Housing Initiatives

In the Community Engagement Department, we're building neighborhoods, not just houses. As part of the Clean and Green Jacksonville Initiative the Community Engagement staff seeks to create public-private partnerships with qualified builders for the development of City-owned vacant lots for the construction of attractive, affordable single-family housing. The subject properties are located in neighborhoods throughout the City.

For example, In downtown Jacksonville, you can live within walking distance of Wilson Bay and the New River with public boat access or stroll through scenic parks and to downtown shops and restaurants. The Neighborhood Housing Initiative is part of Jacksonville's Downtown Master Plan for revitalization.
